This Month's Guest Speaker


Arturo Dominguez, MD
Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology and Department of Internal Medicine
UT Southwestern Medical Center
Dallas, TX

Dr. Dominguez specializes in complex medical dermatology, autoimmune blistering diseases, teledermatology, and hospital dermatology, and he founded the inpatient dermatology consult service for UT Southwestern-affiliated hospitals.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and his medical degree at UT Southwestern. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine and then a dermatology residency at UT Southwestern.

His research focuses primarily on autoimmune blistering diseases, teledermatology, inpatient dermatology, and community health education interventions. He has published a number of scholarly articles and delivered more than 50 research-related presentations. He takes part in UT Southwestern-based clinical trials to evaluate diseases such as severe cutaneous drug reactions and autoimmune blistering diseases such as pemphigus vulgaris.  Dr. Dominguez attends on the internal medicine teaching service at Parkland Hospital and is active in residency education in that department.  He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Gleacher Center

The April meeting take place on the 6th floor of the Gleacher Center, the University of Chicago's business school conference center in downtown Chicago.  It is located at 450 Cityfront Plaza Drive on the Chicago River west of Columbus Drive.  The NBC Tower is immediately adjacent to the Gleacher Center.

Although we are not able to offer discounted parking through CDS, most of the parking lots nearby have attractive "early bird" pricing.

So that we can better plan the meeting, please register no later than 8 a.m. on Monday, April 11.  Registrations received after that time are considered late.  Attendees who pre-register will be guaranteed a protocol book and lunch.  Those who register late normally will receive these items, but it is not guaranteed.

Annual CDS dues includes attendance at the monthly meeting.  There is no charge for members in good standing with paid dues.  Residents & fellows in training are not charged, and they are automatically registered for each meeting.  (Residents who are unable to attend are asked to contact the CDS office so we can make the appropriate adjustments.)

Educational Items

Course Director:  Joerg Albrecht, MD; Chair, Stroger Hospital

Target Audience:  Practicing dermatologists, dermatology residents and fellows.

Conference participants are asked to turn in their CME attendance form and evaluation form before leaving the meeting.  A CME credit certificate will be mailed following the conference.  Residents also must return the attendance form in order to be marked "present."  Thank you for your assistance in this important activity.
