Continuing Education Information

CME Credit

CDS meetings are accredited for Category 1 continuing medical education credits.  Members wishing to receive credit must turn in their claim form before leaving the conference.  Beginning with the October 2014 meeting, we are now using a paper claim form rather than the old lengthy sign-in sheets.  We hope this will speed up the check-in process at the meeting.

CME certificates are sent by regular mail (US Postal Service) to each member who has turned in the CME claim.  Please note that it is the responsibility of each doctor to maintain their own CME records.  The Chicago Dermatological Society does not maintain a transcript of credits awarded.

Maintenance of Certification

Beginning in 2014, most CDS meetings will include a segment in which Maintenance of Certification self-assessment questions are presented. These count toward board recertification requirements.  A special form to document your participation will be handed out at meetings in which the self-assessment questions are included.  This must be returned to the registration table before you leave.  After the conference, a certificate documenting your completion of the questions will be mailed to all who participated.
